Following the late 2015 news of the purchase of the majority of Library Systems business from 3M, bibliotheca is delighted to today announce that transactions concerning 3M Library Systems France and 3M Library Systems Brazil have concluded. These final purchases bring the entire 3M Library business into the bibliotheca Group.
The former 3M Library Systems business units will immediately become part of the new bibliotheca Group, and benefit from the breadth and depth of the bibliotheca Group.
Dr. Simon Plankenhorn, bibliotheca Group CEO commented: “The closing of our French and Brazilian business units is very important to us, as both represent historical and future growth markets to us. We’re delighted to welcome the staff and customers from the former 3M Library Systems business into the bibliotheca Group and look forward to working with and serving them.”
All customers of the previous 3M Library Systems businesses will transfer over to the bibliotheca Group immediately, with previous terms and conditions remaining. In addition to a guaranteed uninterrupted service, customers will immediately benefit from an increased amount of office and field-based staff and increased product range.
Dr. Plankenhorn added: “It’s extremely important for our customers to know that this really is business as normal for them – we’re not making any sweeping changes to their terms or their products, but rather bringing together two companies to present the best of both worlds – we like to think that we’re ‘even better together’. Customers will see more products, more faces and more local presence from us than ever before”.
Of significant importance to both the French and Brazilian markets will be the addition to the Group of the 3M Library Systems Electro Magnetic (EM) and Tattle-Tape security systems. Previously unavailable to bibliotheca customers, these products have already become a mainstay product in the global portfolio, with significant investment already applied and a commitment to making this range a significant part of the product set over the coming years.
