Transforming Digital Lending: bibliotheca’s cloudLibrary™ to be featured at OLA Super Conference

Ottawa, Canada – January 29, 2017

Last year alone, 60 library systems transferred their digital collections to bibliotheca’s cloudLibrary. Three of those new Canadian customers will discuss their experience with the platform in two separate sessions at this year’s Ontario Library Association’s Super Conference in Toronto, January 31 – February 3.

The first session, Express eBooks: Challenging the Limitations of Your eBook Collection will be hosted by Ottawa Public Library on January 31 at 10:30 a.m. Matt Abbott and Amy Hoffman will discuss how they used cloudLibrary to reduce hold times and increase circulation by adding a platform dedicated exclusively to popular digital content.

cloudLinking: Growing your Digital Collection One Library at a Time, will be offered on February 1. Cindy Poggiaroni and Margaret Wallace will explain how Brampton, Oshawa and other public library systems throughout Ontario partnered through cloudLinking to share unused digital materials while maintaining private collections for their own patrons.

“We are excited to participate in this year’s OLA conference. As one of Canada’s largest library conferences, OLA provides us an excellent opportunity to connect with our customers. We’re particularly proud to have cloudLibrary featured in two separate sessions, as it shows how happy our customers are with our solutions and how eager they are to share the stories of their success with other libraries,” says Darin Currie, bibliotheca’s General Manager, Canada.

cloudLibrary, a winner of the 2018 Modern Library Awards Platinum distinction, is a robust eBook and audio book solution designed to be accessible to library users wherever they want to read or listen. It boasts the best cross-platform user experience, offering intuitive browsing, downloading, reading, and listening and is the only platform that can integrate fully with self-service kiosks and discovery stations inside your library.

bibliotheca’s quickConnect software, offered on the full range of selfCheck options, allows cloudLibrary offerings to be promoted to patrons at checkout, seamlessly combining libraries’ physical and digital collections. quickConnect is user-friendly, intuitive, and customizable. 2017 was a record-breaking year for new selfCheck installations for bibliotheca. In addition to hands-on demonstrations of cloudLibrary, quickConnect and the selfCheck solutions, the bibliotheca team will be happy to discuss how the new flex AMH is being used in Richmond Hill Public Library and Candiac Library to increase efficiency and improve service.

The flex AMH, also a Modern Library Awards Platinum winner, has been installed in 75 libraries since its release in April. It offers a new front end, a bulk separator, increased sorting speeds and a fully customizable, modular design that can handle anything from simple configurations to multi-floor installations.
