Spartanburg County Public Libraries, South Carolina, is the first library system to be awarded with bibliotheca North America’s annual Library of the Year Award, a new accolade that highlights and celebrates customer service excellence achieved through the use of bibliotheca solutions.
Spartanburg library service was selected to receive the award based on its achievements in the delivery of customer service to its community members and its innovative use of bibliotheca self-service throughout its main Central Library location and 9 additional community branches.
Awarded at bibliotheca’s Annual Meeting in Atlanta, GA, in December, the honour is the first of its kind to be offered and has been established to reward libraries in North America that utilise bibliotheca products to deliver the best in customer service to its patrons and communities.
The award was presented to the library system by bibliotheca’s President of North America, Al Coalla, and accepted by Spartanburg County Librarian, R. Todd Stephens. bibliotheca North American staff members were present during the award ceremony and were treated to a presentation by Stephens on the importance of vendors to libraries, and how libraries rely on vendors to enable them to provide an excellent customer experience to their library users.
On being selected to receive the award Stephens comments: “bibliotheca is a leader in developing and deploying innovative technologies to support the functions of libraries. Spartanburg County Public Libraries is pleased to have been named bibliotheca’s Library of the Year. Libraries are a critical component to a healthy and vibrant community.
