Cornwall Council upgrade 22 library branches
Leading RFID specialist bibliotheca is pleased to announce that it has been selected to provide upgraded self-service solutions in 22 Cornwall Council libraries this year to improve the services offered to library users.
Cornwall Council, a long-standing bibliotheca customer since 2006, will be replacing 43 of its existing bibliotheca self-service kiosks with latest addition to the company’s smartserve™ range – the smartserve™ 1000. The move comes as Cornwall looks to refresh its self-service facilities across its entire estate, further improving the quality and range of services available to its library users and streamlining day-to-day processes for staff.

Designed to offer the latest in kiosk innovations, the smartserve™ 1000 allows libraries to custom build their perfect kiosk with a range of options that can be integrated into the system. With multiple payment methods, a height adjustable option and the ability to incorporate return bins and an additional surface area, libraries can pick and choose the options that best work for them, and their patrons.
Anne McSeveney adds: “We had had our original fleet of kiosks for 8 years; as we were looking to improve upon our self-service facilities, we knew it was time to replace them and provide our users with something new. The new smartserve™ 1000 kiosk really is the next step up. It is ‘user friendly’ and offers some great features, such as a large portrait screen and colour lead instigation, which flashes when moving onto the next step. We love the flexibility of being able to offer additional functionality and options.”
