SirsiDynix has selected to showcase bibliotheca RFID products in it's Library Lab, part of the new SirsiDynix Technology Centre, which is located near Salt Lake City, UT. The high-tech building offers a modern training centre and an innovation lab where library users can practice on live systems.
The Library Lab offers a stimulating library setting where customers and prospects are able to try out a complete RFID solution fully integrated into a SirsiDynix ILS/LMS environment. bibliotheca has equipped this live library environment with a range of cutting edge solutions enabling visitors to experience the systems’ efficiency and flexible customization.
Users can check out, check in and renew items at a smartserve™ 400 kiosk where they can also independently manage their virtual account via touch screen and see how staff can be relieved of time-consuming clerical activities through the implementation of our fast, easy and secure self-service software. The integrated smartdispenser™ 200 demonstrates the benefits of automated and secured disc handling. The convenience of programming RFID tags and processing multiple items simultaneously at the circulation desk can also be experienced with a smartstation™. In addition, users can extensively test a smartstock™ 200 which offers an efficient means of taking inventory, searching for missing items and identifying misshelved materials. Finally, a modern smartgate™ 400 secures the complete RFID library setting within the Library Lab and provides specific title information should someone exit with an item that sets off the alarm.
