We’re ringing in the New Year with some great news – The MLSA Act passed the US House of Representatives in late December! Meanwhile, 2019 is already shaping up to be a busy year for bibliotheca and our customers. We’re kicking off the year with two big events in North America – ALA Midwinter 2019 in Seattle, Washington, and the OLA Super Conference in Toronto, Ontario. Lastly, bibliotheca is honored to receive Modern Library Awards for the fifth consecutive year. Read more below!

bibliotheca Receives Gold and Platinum Modern Library Awards for Fifth Consecutive Year
2019 marks the fifth consecutive year that bibliotheca’s solutions have received Gold and Platinum status in the MLAs. Previous years’ winners have included our range of selfCheck kiosks, remoteLocker, flex AMH, and cloudLibrary. Read the full release here.

OLA open+ panel members

Join us for an open+ panel discussion with Hamilton Public Library on January 30th.
By incorporating new open+ technology, Hamilton Public Library has increased access to a rural branch from 17 to 60 hours per week, offering substantially more convenience for customers and an improved ROI while cementing the rural library branch as a community hub. Come and learn about the extended access service model and lessons learned. Wednesday, January 30, 2019 from 11:20 am – 12:00 pm (location TBD). Register here.

ALA voting

Don’t Forget to Vote!
Online voting for ALA elections opens on March 11th and runs through April 3rd. The candidates will participate in a candidates’ forum on January 25, 4:30 – 5:30 p.m. at the 2019 Midwinter Meeting in Seattle. Learn more about the voting process and upcoming election.
