As school libraries and classrooms swell with the influx of young ones back to their studies, public libraries return to a sense of normalcy. At many libraries, fall is a time to be forward-thinking, brainstorm and begin strategic planning. And with IFLA’s recently released 2019-2024 strategic plan now available to digest, everyone’s got strategy on the brain.

To aid in your musings of future programs, services and outreach, we draw your attention to a few customer initiatives, news items and important updates below. In late August, bibliotheca leadership addressed recent publisher model changes in a letter to all customers and we announced a new partnership with Patron Point. Oakville Public Library is seeing incredible success with their new OPL Express initiative and Mandel Public Library couldn’t be more thrilled with their content transfer to cloudLibrary. We’re visiting eleven states in the next five weeks to have in-person discussions, helping libraries be more strategic with outreach efforts and user experiences.
