Bibliotheca and Patron Point partner to drive cloudLibrary ebook awareness and use

Oakdale, MN/Dublin, OH – August 21, 2019

Patron Point and bibliotheca announced today that the companies have entered into a new partnership with a goal of providing libraries with effective marketing tactics they can employ to easily promote the many benefits of cloudLibrary and drive new user adoption.

Patron Point’s Ian Downie summarizes the partnership as “A key feature of Patron Point is the ability to conduct highly targeted promotions of library services and offerings. By working closely together, our companies can provide all of the elements any library needs to create highly targeted marketing campaigns. This includes not only product messaging and imagery, but also the timely data required to drive and monitor the effectiveness of a marketing campaign.”

The partnership allows data usage to be shared between cloudLibrary and the Patron Point marketing platform to allow the library to identify frequent, occasional and non-users, then segment those user groups for targeted messaging and promotion. The partnership will also provide mutual customers with a pre-designed marketing kit of templates, images and messaging that will greatly simplify the process of designing and producing the campaigns.

Downie continues, “For example, within a single campaign, a library will be able to identify all non-users of cloudLibrary and target specific messaging to that group. At the same time, the library can segment all of the occasional users and offer an entirely different message or promotion. In either case, the unified view of patron activity and the pre-loaded marketing kit will greatly simplify the entire process—no matter what strategy the library employs.”

“We know that our success ultimately rests on the library’s ability to promote cloudLibrary to their users”, states bibliotheca’s Senior Vice President of Digital Products, Tom Mercer. “Patron Point offers libraries a powerful platform to launch a variety of marketing campaigns. Our partnership will provide a set of tools that help promote a great library digital experience and drive cloudLibrary user adoption at no extra cost to our mutual customers.”

Initial implementations are planned for Q3 2019. Downie concludes, “By joining together and offering a single, bundled program, our hope is that we can help libraries maximize the access and use of innovative library services like cloudLibrary.”
