In an on-going effort to aid libraries in providing all of their library users with the most integrated and engaging library experience possible, bibliotheca has released the new iOS and Android 3.4 cloudLibrary™ app. This update offers users the option to explore cloudLibrary in 11 different languages: English, Spanish, German, French, Canadian French, Dutch, Portuguese, Italian, Catalan, Maori, and Romanian.
“bibliotheca is committed to helping libraries everywhere better connect with their library users. With this new release, we are not only introducing cloudLibrary to the global market but making all of the app’s features accessible to the diverse multi-lingual communities that are served by libraries here in the United Kingdom,” says Tom Mercer, Director of Digital Products.
cloudLibrary provides an intuitive, easy to use platform that allows library users to download digital content from right within their library’s own system. There is no need to set up accounts with third-party vendors or visit multiple websites. The new update allows users to select the language in which they’d like the app content to be displayed.
cloudLibrary already boasts an extensive Spanish language digital collection and bibliotheca is working with publishers to expand the catalogue to include e-books and audiobooks in other languages as well. A new backend update will allow this content to be catalogued according to language and country, and provide users the opportunity to search for content in the language of their choice.
A new comprehensive cloudLibrary support website for library users has also been launched to support the internationalisation of the cloudLibrary app, available in English, German, French, Spanish, Dutch, and Catalan. Future enhancements look to extend cloudLibrary into complex character sets, such as Arabic and Chinese.
