Purpose-built for exceptional performance
Durable by Design
Galvanised steel construction and a powder-coated finish ensure durable, consistent performance in demanding environments.
More Lockers, Same Footprint
Higher-density tower configurations increase holds capacity without expanding the physical installation area.
Large, high-brightness display
A bright, easy-to-read screen ensures clear visibility for users in all lighting conditions.
Accessible to Every Patron
Designed to support independent use for all users, with hardware and software aligned to ADA, DDA, WCAG, and EN 301 549 standards.
Accessible to Every Patron
remoteLocker+ supports independent use for all users, with hardware and software aligned to ADA standards in the US, DDA requirements in the UK, and WCAG and EN 301 549 internationally. The product is also designed to support European Accessibility Act requirements in applicable markets.
Optional AudioNav control, tactile navigation cues and a dedicated audio jack allow users to complete pickup independently. The large, high-brightness display ensures readability in any lighting condition.
- Tactile navigation arrows
- Optional AudioNav controller
- Dedicated audio jack and volume control
- Text-to-speech support
- 2D barcode scanner for patron authentication
- Optional Mifare smart card reader
- quickConnect aligns with WCAG, ADA, DDA, and EN 301 549
- Supports EAA requirements where applicable
Built to Last Longer
The previous remoteLocker performed reliably. remoteLocker+ is designed to go further.
Galvanised steel with a powder-coated finish reduces corrosion exposure compared to the prior model. Redesigned legs improve structural strength during daily use and transport. IP54 protection helps keep internal components safe from water and dust.
Together, these updates support a longer service life wherever the locker is installed.
- Galvanised steel construction with powder-coated finish
- IP54-rated protection against water and dust
- Improved corrosion resistance compared to the previous model
- Reinforced leg design for structural stability and transport
- Industrial-grade internal components
Familiar by Design
remoteLocker+ runs on quickConnect, the same platform used across Bibliotheca’s self-service ecosystem. Users experience the same intuitive interface used for self-checkout and returns, while staff work within familiar workflows and existing systems.
For staff and IT teams, remoteLocker+ integrates with uniFi+ for dynamic on-screen messaging and with libraryConnect LINK for remote monitoring and management. Physical site visits are reduced. Visibility is improved.
- Powered by quickConnect
- Supports Browse & Borrow and rememberMe
- Connects with uniFi+ for on-screen messaging and service updates
- Integrates with libraryConnect LINK for remote monitoring
- Enables remote access for IT and operations teams
Built to Scale
The remoteLocker+ control tower includes 14 lockers across three sizes. As demand grows, additional towers can be added without increasing the installation footprint.
Two add-on configurations provide scalable density for locations with high holds volume. The base requirement has also been reduced compared to the previous model, lowering installation complexity where site preparation matters.
- Control tower: 14 lockers (8 small, 4 medium, 2 large)
- Add-on tower A: 24 lockers (20 small, 4 medium)
- Add-on tower B: 44 lockers (40 extra small, 4 medium)
- Higher-density configurations available
- Requires a 4-inch (10 cm) concrete base (previous model required 5.9 inches / 15 cm)
- Smaller footprint for flexible placement options
Modern Hardware as Standard
remoteLocker+ ships with current-generation hardware as standard.
Windows 11 LTSC and the Intel Core i3-N305 processor are standard. A 2D barcode scanner is included by default. The separate PC and display architecture allows individual components to be serviced independently, reducing downtime and simplifying field maintenance.
Payment options, return workflows, and the light bar with ambient light sensor are built in from day one.
- Separate PC and display architecture for easier servicing
- Intel Core i3-N305 processor
- Windows 11 LTSC
- 2D barcode scanner included
- Optional Mifare smart card reader
- Light bar with ambient light sensor
- Stripe QR payment support
- Return to Locker workflow support
Libraries Using remoteLocker
Quotes from libraries using remoteLocker solutions.
"The thing our patrons want most is the most expensive thing of all — more hours."
"Before staff could even publicise the new service, patrons were discovering the lockers on their own, reserving materials online, and picking them up without assistance."
"If all you want to do is zoom in and get your holds, we've got a way that you can do that, 24/7."
"It's beginning to replace curbside pickup even during library hours and may be the default for curbside service next year."
"Henefer is a town that has never had a public library, and now they have access to anything in our collection at any time. That's more access than we can provide anywhere else in the county right now."
"Everyone else has lockers out next to their library for the commuters, or for people out-of-hours. Bibliotheca can show how lockers work when it's truly, extremely remote."
"It's perfect for early birds, night owls, and Sunday drivers because those people can visit our library and pick up their items when we're not even open."
"If it's a good fit for your space and your needs, I would tell them that the lockers have been a game changer. They've been absolutely helpful and I can't imagine going back."
Frequently asked questions
What makes remoteLocker+ more durable than previous solutions?
remoteLocker+ uses galvanised steel construction, a corrosion-resistant powder-coated finish, and IP54-rated components. These materials help protect the system from weather exposure and reduce maintenance needs in exterior installations.
Does it integrate with our current library systems?
Yes. remoteLocker+ integrates with existing ILS environments and connects with quickConnect, uniFi+, and libraryConnect LINK for patron communication, monitoring, and system management.
How complex is installation?
remoteLocker+ installs on a 10 cm concrete base and can be deployed as a standalone tower. Its compact design allows libraries to place the system outdoors without major site modifications.
Can we expand capacity as holds demand grows?
Yes. Add-on towers with higher-density configurations allow libraries to increase locker capacity without replacing the main unit.
Is it accessible for all users?
Yes. The system includes tactile navigation, an AudioNav controller, a dedicated audio jack, and software aligned with WCAG and ADA accessibility requirements.
How do staff manage the system day to day?
Staff can monitor system status, receive alerts, and access operational insights remotely through libraryConnect LINK.
