Bringing Scotland’s Library Community Together: Highlights from the Bibliotheca Scotland Roadshow

While attendees had the opportunity to experience live demonstrations of Bibliotheca solutions, from the selfCheck kiosks, remoteLocker and smartShelf borrow, the conversations throughout the day proved just as valuable. The roadshow provided a space for library professionals to exchange ideas, learn from one another and discuss the future of library services.

As Iain Robertson, South Lanarkshire Libraries, shared:

“The equipment demonstrations are always eye-opening in themselves, but more importantly, they make us consider our current services and how they might develop.”

The collaborative discussions were another highlight of the day. Bringing colleagues together in person remains invaluable, particularly at a time when opportunities to meet face-to-face are increasingly rare.

Scott Simpson, East Renfrewshire, reflected on the experience:

“The breakout/discussion sessions were valuable. It is rare these days to meet colleagues in person very often.”

Scott also shared his thoughts on working with Bibliotheca:

“There’s no one supplier in our experience where we are completely satisfied with them. Most are OK, but they all could do with a little bit of improvement. To be honest, Bibliotheca are about the best company we have dealt with in that respect.”
