Bibliotheca wins platinum award: Oakdale, Minnesota – January 10, 2019
bibliotheca, a leading global library technology solutions provider is proud to announce that it has received four platinum awards and two gold awards in LibraryWorks’ fifth annual Modern Library Awards (MLAs.) The MLAs were created to recognize the top products and services in the library industry in a truly unbiased format.
Products and services were submitted in the fall and sent to the LibraryWorks database of more than 80,000 librarians at public, K-12, academic, and special libraries. Only customers with hands-on experience of the products were permitted to judge them, resulting in a truly unbiased score.
The 2019 awards mark the fifth consecutive year that bibliotheca’s solutions have received Gold and Platinum status in the MLAs. Previous years’ winners have included our range of selfCheck kiosks, remoteLocker, flex AMH, and cloudLibrary.
“Year over year, bibliotheca’s solutions continue to garner top scores from their customers,” says Jenny Newman, publisher and MLA program manager.
bibliotheca’s 2019 MLA Winners:
open+ (Platinum): bibliotheca’s comprehensive open library solution allows libraries to offer extended access to community members during unstaffed hours. open+ has been popular in Europe for over a decade and became available in North America in 2018. Three of bibliotheca’s flagship North American open+ customers, Hamilton Public Library (ON), Ventura County Public Library (CA), and Gwinnett County Public Library (GA) partnered with bibliotheca to host open house informational sessions about the open+ system in late 2018. These events attracted nearly 100 innovative library leaders from around the country interested in learning how open+ can help libraries meet the needs of their communities and improve ROI.
cloudLibrary (Platinum): bibliotheca’s digital lending platform helps libraries integrate their physical and digital collections seamlessly. Already offering an intuitive, in-app borrowing experience for eBooks and eAudio, as well as integration with selfCheck self-service stations, cloudLibrary will be launching new modules in early 2019. These new modules provide interactive receipts, due date reminders, library information, virtual library cards, and mobile checkout of physical materials right from a user’s smartphone.
selfCheck 500 & selfCheck 1000 (Platinum and Gold): bibliotheca’s beautiful, user-friendly self-checkout kiosks have earned MLA awards for the last four years. Running quickConnect software and compliant with both EM and RFID technology, selfChecks offer a user experience second to none.
remoteLocker (Gold): A remote holds pick-up solution that is as easy on the eyes as it is on the customer. remoteLockers provide libraries an affordable and attractive way to increase the convenience of library use by allowing users to pick up borrowed materials at grocery stores, community centers, or anywhere with shelter, electricity, and Internet access.
flex AMH (Platinum): bibliotheca’s fully modular, customizable automatic return and sorting solution allows libraries to get materials back on the shelves more quickly and accurately than ever before.
“We pride ourselves on listening carefully to the needs of libraries, their staff and communities and then developing solutions that meet and exceed those needs. We are delighted to once again be recognized for our work and our products as we continue to help libraries connect with users, deliver engaging experiences and transform the overall library experience,” says Jim Hopwood, bibliotheca Chief Technology Officer.
