Bibliotheca Introduces remoteLocker+, a Next-Generation Locker for Library Holds Pickup

Lake Elmo, Minn., March 18, 2026 — Bibliotheca has introduced remoteLocker+, a holds pickup locker that gives library patrons secure, around-the-clock access to reserved materials wherever it is installed, including outside the building, near a transit stop, or in other community locations. The solution helps extend service hours and provides convenient item collection access even when the building is closed.

remoteLocker+ extends Bibliotheca’s proven locker platform with hardware designed for demanding environments. The unit uses galvanized steel construction with a corrosion-resistant powder-coated finish and IP54-rated protection against water and dust. Redesigned support legs add structural stability for long-term use in challenging conditions. The base requirement has also been reduced from 5.9 inches to 4 inches, lowering site preparation complexity for exterior and off-site deployments.

A large high-brightness touchscreen rated at 1,000 nits maintains clear visibility in direct sunlight and changing light conditions. The interface runs Bibliotheca’s quickConnect platform, the same system used across the company’s self-checkout and automated returns solutions, giving patrons a consistent experience at every touchpoint.

“Libraries can’t manufacture more hours in the day. But they can meet people where they are, and make sure access is there when they need it. That’s what remoteLocker+ is built for. I’m really proud of what the team has delivered here. This is the best version of this product we’ve ever shipped,” said Delaney Levey, Chief Product Officer at Bibliotheca.

A standard configuration includes a main locker unit with 14 compartments in three sizes. Additional towers can be added to increase capacity without expanding the footprint, supporting locations with high holds volume. Two add-on configurations offer 24 or 44 lockers, with higher-density options available.

The platform connects with uniFi+ for dynamic on-screen messaging and integrates with libraryConnect LINK for remote monitoring, operational data, and system management.

Accessibility features include tactile navigation cues, an optional AudioNav controller, a dedicated audio jack with volume control, and text-to-speech functionality. The software meets ADA, DDA, WCAG, and EN 301 549 standards and is designed to support European Accessibility Act requirements in applicable markets.

remoteLocker+ is available now in the United States and Canada. Additional regional availability is planned throughout 2026.
