Come see what’s possible: Bibliotheca focuses on user experiences at ALA 2019

Oakdale, Minnesota – June 18, 2019

bibliotheca will be showcasing an immersive Library Experience Tour focused on evolving the way users experience today’s modern library, hosting two special sessions and throwing an exclusive customer event during the American Library Association (ALA) Annual Conference in Washington DC, June 21st-24th, 2019.

bibliotheca is thrilled to host an unforgettable customer event at a rooftop venue looking over the Capitol. The evening will feature drinks, hors d’oeuvres and an engaging talk by MacArthur Fellow, Pulitzer Prize winner and author of The Underground Railroad, Sag Harbor, and the upcoming The Nickel Boys, Colson Whitehead.

As new technology brings fresh opportunities to libraries, attendees are invited to take a Library Experience Tour at booth 1607 to learn more about the holistic ecosystem of bibliotheca library solutions aimed at maximizing valuable staff time and delivering the best possible experience for today’s library users.

Library Experience Tour will consist of:

  • A new smartphone app that empowers both digital and physical readers
  • Extending open hours and providing more convenient access
  • Delivering library holds to new locations 24/7
  • Convenient and intuitive self-service options
  • Getting books back on the shelf faster with customizable return and sorting solutions
  • Managing inventory and library collections
  • Protecting valuable materials with modern security solutions
  • Configuring equipment and running reports from one location

As libraries look to extend their reach and deliver library holds to more users, bibliotheca is evolving the remoteLocker solution to introduce new library locker types for varying needs. With mix-and-match tower configurations, libraries can now offer more lockers, larger lockers, and lockers with transparent doors that create a browsable library collection just about anywhere.

“All of our solutions are designed to keep libraries vibrant and relevant by meeting users where they are, in the way most convenient for them. Over 50 libraries in North America already use our remoteLocker solution to extend access to 24/7 library lobbies, grocery stores, fire stations, community centers and even YMCAs. The remoteLocker is an affordable way for libraries to extend the library experience,” says Matthew Bellamy, President of the Americas.

ALA attendees are encouraged to stop by the booth, take the Library Experience Tour, and enter for a chance to win a $250 VISA gift card.

bibliotheca will also be hosting two special sessions focused on using today’s technology to evolve libraries’ impact on their communities by extending access to physical library spaces and resources as well as harnessing the power of smartphones to put the library in their users’ pockets.
