RESULT

Duoc now offers a fully mobile and user-centered borrowing experience, positioning itself as a pioneer in library innovation in the world.

The digital transformation of university libraries is no longer a future goal—it’s happening now. A clear example is Duoc UC, one of Chile’s leading higher education institutions, which has become the first organization worldwide to implement cloudCheck mobile, Bibliotheca’s cutting-edge self-service solution for mobile devices.

This bold step reinforces Duoc’s commitment to innovation, student-centered experiences, and adapting to the habits of a new generation that is more connected and digitally engaged than ever before.

This project represents a fundamental shift in how knowledge access is envisioned—freer, more intuitive, and personalized. Solutions like cloudCheck mobile meet the expectations of students who demand seamless digital experiences and of institutions that want to innovate without losing the human touch.

cloudCheck mobile: Access in a Single Tap

cloudCheck mobile empowers students to check out library materials directly from their smartphones, offering a fast, autonomous, and fully digital experience. This solution complements Duoc’s existing Bibliotheca technology ecosystem, which includes tools like cloudCheck tablet and advanced security systems.

With this implementation, Duoc is not only simplifying access to academic resources but also building a more modern, accessible, and efficient library model for its users.

“cloudCheck mobile reflects our vision of a service environment that is flexible, connected, and student-focused. It responds to the characteristics of today’s students—more visual, digital, and connected. This progress has been possible thanks to our partnership with Bibliotheca,” says Francisca Cebié, Director of Academic Development at Duoc UC.

A Guided Process from Day One

This successful implementation was made possible thanks to close collaboration between Duoc UC, the Bibliotheca team, and our partner in Chile, Digital G+. From initial needs assessment to technical support and training, every step of the process was carefully managed to ensure a smooth implementation aligned with institutional goals.

The first campus to launch this technology was Antonio Varas in Santiago, where an official launch event was held with the participation of academic leaders, students, and Bibliotheca representatives.

Scalable and Future-Ready

This milestone marks the beginning of a larger digital expansion plan. Duoc UC intends to roll out cloudCheck mobile to other campuses across Chile, positioning itself as a regional leader in digital transformation for academic libraries.

As the first global user of this solution, Duoc UC also plays a key role in the app’s ongoing development, offering feedback to help enhance its functionality for institutions worldwide.

The Duoc UC case shows that innovating in academic libraries is not only possible—it’s essential. Thanks to his vision, Bibliotheca’s support, and next-generation technology, thousands of students can now enjoy a more agile, connected, and future-ready library experience.
