Lake Elmo, Minn. — Bibliotheca, a global provider of library technology solutions, has announced a new integration between its RFID workstations and the Koha integrated library system. This integration was made possible by our partnership with ByWater Solutions and is enabled through the staffConnect link plugin.
The integration allows Koha to communicate directly with Bibliotheca RFID pads, enabling staff to process multiple items at once without switching between systems. The result is faster check-in, checkout, and renewal workflows, with improved accuracy in high-volume environments.
By removing the need for one-by-one item handling and reducing reliance on separate interfaces, the integration streamlines daily operations and helps staff stay focused on patron service.
“This is a practical step forward for library workflows,” said Mason Humphrey, Commercial Director at Bibliotheca. “This integration brings RFID and Koha closer together in a way that removes friction from everyday staff workflows.”
Jessica Zairo, Vice President of Strategic Partnerships at ByWater Solutions added, “Koha is developed to be flexible and adaptable. By integrating directly with Bibliotheca RFID workstations, we’re providing libraries with a more streamlined way to manage circulation.”
The staffConnect link plugin enables Koha to control both RFID hardware and on-screen messaging, creating a unified workflow within a single interface.
