Bibliotheca earns Platinum and Gold Modern Library Awards for sixth consecutive year

Oakdale, Minnesota – January 22nd, 2020

bibliotheca, leading global library technology solutions provider is proud to announce that it has received two Platinum awards and a Gold award in LibraryWorks’ sixth annual Modern Library Awards (MLAs). The MLAs were created to recognize the top products and services in the library industry in a truly unbiased format.

Only customers with hands-on experience of the products from public, K-12, academic, and special libraries were permitted to judge them, resulting in a truly unbiased score.

Not surprisingly, topping the charts with Platinum status were both cloudLibrary and open+, solutions that help libraries improve access to both physical and digital library services. bibliotheca’s selfCheck 500 received a Gold status, with its modern and easy-to-use customer interface.

“We are focused on helping libraries find innovative and effective ways to serve the needs of their users and transform the role of libraries in their communities. We develop our solutions to not only meet current needs but also to help libraries identify and prepare for future opportunities. We’re delighted to again be recognized for our work and are deeply appreciative of the library partners who work with us to help ensure our products are the best on the market,” says Matthew Bellamy, bibliotheca President Americas.

The 2020 awards mark the sixth consecutive year that bibliotheca’s solutions have received Gold and Platinum status in the MLAs. bibliotheca will accept the awards at this year’s American Library Association (ALA) Midwinter Conference. The team will also be on hand at the 2020 Public Library Association (PLA) Conference in Nashville to share the full range of bibliotheca solutions designed to help transform the library experience.

To speak to one of our team members about our ecosystem of technology solutions designed to drive deeper awareness and engagement for libraries, please visit us at booth #1323 at ALA Midwinter in Philadelphia, PA from January 24 to 27, or come see us at booth #515 at PLA in Nashville, TN from February 26 to 28.

bibliotheca’s 2020 MLA Winners:

open+ (Platinum): bibliotheca’s comprehensive open library solution allows libraries to offer extended access to community members, in an age when user expectations are increasing and libraries must adapt to ensure they remain relevant to ever-changing needs. open+ has been popular in Europe for over a decade and became available in North America in 2018. Recently implemented by Los Angeles County, one of the nation’s largest library systems, open+ received nearly perfect scores in this year’s MLAs.

cloudLibrary (Platinum): For years, cloudLibrary has offered a digital lending platform that helps libraries integrate their physical and digital collections seamlessly with an intuitive, in-app borrowing experience for eBooks and eAudiobooks, as well as integration with selfCheck self-service stations. In 2019, cloudLibrary launched two new modules – cloudLibrary assist and cloudLibrary checkout which can be used in combination or independently with the traditional digital content. These new modules provide a similar app experience to what library users receive from other mainstream apps, designed to complement and enhance the physical library user’s visit. cloudLibrary exceeds user expectations with interactive receipts, due date reminders, library information, virtual library cards, and mobile checkout of physical materials right from a user’s smartphone.

selfCheck 500 (Gold): bibliotheca’s beautiful, user-friendly self-checkout kiosks have earned MLA awards for the last five years. Creating a positive, memorable experience for users when they are leaving the library isn’t something that happens by chance. Running quickConnect software with newly launched cloudLibrary companion app, bibliotheca selfChecks offer a user experience second to none.
